A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Valley Christian Center for Lillian Louise Potter Roy, 79, of Ceres. She died Thursday, July 28, 2005 at English Oaks Convalescent Hospital in Modesto.

Burial will follow at Ceres Memorial Park under the direction of the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs.

Born July 4, 1926, Mrs. Roy was a native of McAlester, Okla., and lived in Ceres for 44 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Assembly of God Church and the women's ministry at the church. Mrs. Roy enjoyed camping, participating in religious retreats, crafts, crocheting and pottery.

She leaves behind her husband, Gordon L. Roy of Ceres; three children, Jimmie Bryan of Modesto, Janie Reynolds of Turlock and Judy James of Ceres; her brother, Troy Potter of Florida; her sister, Bobbie Maclin of Hartshorne, Okla.; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
