A funeral service is being held at 9 a.m. today at W. Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in Carthage, Mo., for former Ceres resident Linda Sue Green, 69, of Krebs, Okla. She died Dec. 2, 2011.

Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage.

Born Nov. 16, 1942 in Carthage to Ernest and Oakley Marie Langley, Linda lived in Ceres prior to moving to Krebs Okla. While living in Ceres she was a housewife and later worked at Modesto Saw and Knife as a bookkeeper until her move in 1995. In Krebs Linda worked at the McAlester News Capital for several years as a bookkeeper and also as a cashier at Walmart. She enjoyed playing video games and doing woodworking crafts. Linda loved children and she became the neighborhood "Grandma", taking care of children in her home while their parents were at work.

She leaves behind her children, Kelly Fellows of Krebs, Kevin Green of Hickman, Kim Long of Oklahoma City, Kathryn Green of Turlock and Karrie Marcon of Newalla, Okla.; her brothers, Jerry Langley, Sonny Nelson, David Nelson and Ricky Nelson; her sisters, Beverly Bice, Georgie Wass, Jessie Tennis, Wilma Harter and Thersia Bearden; and 11 grandchildren; R.J. Fellows, Jenny Fellows, Josh Fellows, Jessica Fellows, James Green, Abram Green, Tiffin Smith, Ian Smith, Ethan Marcon, Haileigh Marcon and Austin Marcon. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James W. Green and sisters Naomi Green and Wanda Taylor.
