A chapel service was held Saturday at Samaritan Village in Hughson for Lucille Wick Olson, 88, of Hughson. She died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005 at Brandel Manor in Turlock.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Lakewood Funeral Home.

Born July 26, 1917, Mrs. Olson was a native of Iowa and lived in Hughson for three years and previously lived in South Dakota for 30 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Oakdale Garden Club, St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Oakdale Women's Club and Oakdale Squarenaders. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, square dancing, painting, traveling and reading.

Mrs. Olson leaves behind two daughters, Sharolyn Rae Casey of Waterford and Katherine Joyce Wannarka of Spearfish, S.D.; two brothers, Gerald Wick of Iowa and Lloyd Wick of Washington; three sisters, Dorothy Jones of Washington, and Bernice Harding and Shirley Conner, both of Iowa; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth Olson; and children Stanley D. Olson and Steve Olson.
