A Mass was held Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Marian Ruth Silva Mello, 86, of Turlock. She died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004 at her home.
Burial was at Turlock Memorial Park under the direction of Allen Mortuary.
Born Oct. 25, 1917, Mrs. Mello was a native of Hughson and had lived in Turlock since 1936. She was a homemaker and had worked at Julien School as a teachers aide for several years. Mrs. Mello graduated from Hughson High School in 1935. She was a member of Young Ladies Institute and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mrs. Mello leaves behind two children, Ken Mello of Turlock and James Mello of New Zealand; her sister, Jeanette Vierra of Hughson; three caregivers, Elza Silva, Pam Michaels and Sara Mello, all of Turlock; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Smith.
