A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Ceres for Marjorie Christine Caudill Teekell, 86, of Turlock. She died Saturday, March 20, 2004 at her daughter's home.

Private burial was at Ceres Memorial Park under the direction of Allen Mortuary.

Born Aug. 5, 1917, Mrs. Teekell was a native of Watsonville, and had lived in Stanislaus County since 1924. She and her husband bought Turlock Cleaners in 1938. They owned Delux Cleaners and Modern Way Cleaners, as well as cleaning businesses in Livermore and Dallas, Ore., for 36 years. Mrs. Teekell was a member of First Baptist Church in Ceres for 66 years, where she taught Sunday school for 28 years. She was a Pioneer Girls leader and camp counselor for six years. Mrs. Teekell was a member of the Turlock Golf & Country Club, playing with both the Tee Birds and the Eighteen Holers.

She leaves behind two children, Gordon Teekell of Oakland and Gayle Petersen of Modesto; three brothers, Maurice Caudill of Reno, Earl Caudill of O'Brien, Ore., and Dale Caudill of Modesto; sisters, Beryl Croslow of Modesto and Belva Gilton of Riverbank; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
