Services were held Friday at Oakdale Memorial Chapel for Marlene Adelaide Nason Madderra, 67, of Modesto. She died March 16, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

Born Nov. 19, 1941 in Hollywood to Guy Nason, Jr., and Madelene Holloway. Marlene lived in Los Angeles and Oakdale before settling in Modesto in 1967. Marlene worked hard all her life, sometimes holding down more than one job. She worked at Proctor & Gamble over 20 years, retiring in 1994 due to Multiple Sclerosis. She was an active member of the Keyes Assembly Of God Tabernacle. Mrs. Madderra enjoyed traveling, often taking rides to Sonora and Santa Nella for breakfast, are driving the1965 Mustang to ride in parades, or traveling to Laughlin, Nev., in a motorhome. Marlene enjoyed cooking, collecting cookbooks, watching cooking shows, yard work, going to yard sales, sewing, crafts, and genealogy with her sister, Wendy.

She leaves behind her husband of 40 years, Kenneth "Bud" Madderra of Modesto; her children, Cyndi Adkins, of N.M., Dawn Stamper of Ceres, Doug Peters of Waterford, Trista Davis of Idaho and Kenneth Madderra and Belinda Nicolodi, both of Modesto; her sister, Wendy Watson; and 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Diane Snyder, brother, Guy "Bub" Nason.
