Arrangements were made for Martha Lorene Estes-Holland, 94, formerly of south Modesto. She died Jan. 31, 2012 in Muskogee, Okla.
Born June 27, 1917 in Stroud, Okla. Lorene and husband Gurve came to Modesto In the late 1940s. For 18 years, from 1950 to 1968, they owned and operated Holland's Market located at the corner of Frazier and Imperial Avenue in south Modesto. In 1972 they retired and returned to Oklahoma to the town of Tahlequah. Mr. Holland died in 1994 after 57 years of marriage. Lorene was an excellent quilter and made many beautiful handmade quilts for her family and friends.
She leaves behind four sisters and many nieces and nephews.
