A service was held Thursday at Ceres United Pentecostal Church for Martha Wilburn, 65, of Modesto. She died Aug. 5, 2012 in Modesto.

Burial was at Ceres Memorial Park under the direction of the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs.

Born Nov. 17, 1946 in Little Rock, Ark., to Clarence and Fannie Lovett, Martha was a long time resident of Los Banos and moved to Modesto in 1994. She worked as the principal's secretary at Los Banos High School for years but retired from the Modesto Police Department. She was also a real estate broker in Los Banos. With her husband Donald Knight, Martha owned and operated the Frog Pond in Los Banos. She was very involved in church and was a devoted member of Ceres United Pentecostal Church, where her late husband, Denzal Wilburn served as reverend. Mrs. Wilburn enjoyed cooking and caring for her family.

She leaves behind her daughter, Deanna Knight of Ceres; her step-son, Derrick Wilburn; her mother, Fannie Myers; three sisters, Louise Watson of Dublin, Shirley Martinez of Ceres, and Doris Jean Lovett of Los Banos; her brother, Raymond Lovett of Ceres; two grandchildren, Katrina Knight and Erynn Knight; two step-grandchildren, Tarin Martin and Tahnee Wilburn; and her step-great-granddaughter, Olyvia Martin. Martha was preceded in death by husband, Denzal Wilburn, first husband of 13 years Donald Knight (1978) and father Clarence Lovett.
