A memorial service was held Tuesday at Modesto Covenant Church for Marvin Cecil Lambert, 81, of Modesto. He died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004 at his home.
The McHenry Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge of arrangements.
Born July 9, 1923, Mr. Lambert was a native of Breckinridge, Texas, and lived in Modesto for 55 years. He had retired after a teaching career at Modesto High School and at the junior high level in Ceres. Mr. Lambert coached high school basketball and baseball. He was a member of Modesto Covenant Church and was a former deacon at First Baptist Church in Modesto and Ceres First Baptist Church. Mr. Lambert was an Army veteran of World War II, and served in India. He enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Lambert leaves behind his wife, Jerry Lambert of Modesto; his children, Dave Lambert of Atlanta, and Paul Lambert of New York City; his sister, Lu Clark of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
