A funeral service was held on Thursday at Calvary Temple Worship Center in Modesto for Mary Ann Donahou, 46, of Ceres. She died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 after being struck by a vehicle while she was gathering evidence at a crime scene.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born August 20, 1965 in Ceres, Mary graduated from Downey High School in 1983. Mary loved all music genres and in 1996 moved to St. Louis where she worked for KYKY 98 and KEZK 102.5. In December of 1999 Mary gave birth to son Jake. In 2000 she moved back to California to raise her son near her family. In 2002 Mary began her career at the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department as a booking clerk in the county jail. Her love of law enforcement led her to become a crime scene technician. She was investigating a crime scene at the time of her death.

Mrs. Donahou was a den mother for the Cub Scouts, and did local charity work especially supporting local sports organizations.

She leaves behin her son Jake Lewis Hassler of Ceres; her parents, Janice and Robert Pence and Jack and Mary Donahou; her sisters, Jennifer Horne, Melinda Donahou-Sneed, Lori Donahou, and Teresa Brockman; her companion, Eugene Day; and three nieces, four nephews and six great-nephews.
