A funeral Mass was held Thursday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres for Mary Julia Faustini Buran, 88, of Ceres. She died May 10, 2009.
The Colonial Chapel of Franklin and Downs was in charge of arrangements, including burial at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Modesto.
Born Feb. 15, 1921 in Brescia, Italy, Mary lived in Stanislaus County for 85 years. She graduated from Ceres High School in 1939. Mrs. Buran was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres, and was a lifetime member of the Stanislaus County Swiss Club. She was a homemaker for 60 years.
She leaves behind her three children, Louie Buran of Ceres, Sharon Miranda of Millville, and Angela Buran of Modesto; two granddaughters, Nicole Miranda of Portland, Ore., and Darci Miranda-Hupp of Arcata; and two great-grandsons, Owen and Abram Miranda-Hupp. She was preceded in death by parents Davide and Angela Faustini, brother Neno Faustini and husband of 49 years Henry Buran.
