A Celebration of Life was held Friday at the Valley View Church of the Nazarene in Ceres for youth pastor Matthew David Brewer, 37, of Modesto. He died June 20, 2010 after a short illness.
Born April 22, 1973, Matt had been involved in ministry to at-risk children and teens in Modesto for more than a decade, giving time working to make opportunities for those who didn't have them. Most recently he was working to plant a new Church in Modesto.
