A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec 30) at Allen Mortuary in Turlock for Reba Maxine DeVore Morrow Wright, 87. She died Dec. 24, 2009 with her children by her side.

Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born January 1922 in Big Piney, Mo., to Bill and Blanche DeVore, Maxine came to Ceres when she was just 18 months of age. She lived and worked in Ceres most of her life. Mrs. Wright enjoyed cooking, making jams and pies, making baby quilts, doing kitchen work for church functions and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren

She leaves behind her husband, Charles E. Wright; her daughter, Lois Pettit; her son, Daryl Morrow; and her grandchildren, Kevin Pettit of Washington, Chris Tacker of Turlock, Kelli Thorp of Idaho, and Alisa Ainslie of South Dakota; and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by first husband Raymond "Red" Morrow, brother Chester DeVore and sister Juanita Buchanan.
