A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Old German Baptist Brethren Church in Modesto for Mildred M. Overholtzer Skinner, 88, of Ceres. She died Friday, Nov. 11, 2005at English Oaks Convalescent Hospital in Modesto.

Burial will follow at Wood Colony Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs.

Born June 15, 1917, Mrs. Skinner was a native of Modesto and a lifelong resident of Ceres and Modesto. She was a cabinet maker for Cowan's Cabinet Company and retired in 1975.

She leaves behind her husband, Edgar Skinner of Ceres; four children, Richard McFarren, Marvin McFarren, Paulette Badgett and Patrick Wright, all of Modesto; two stepchildren, Pamela Strait of Upper Lake and Timothy Skinner of Modesto; two brothers, Floyd Overholtzer and Elvan Overholtzer, both of Modesto; two sisters, Elva Bascue of Empire and Jennie Cowan of Waterford; and nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
