A graveside service was held Friday at Ceres Memorial Park for Mildred Jane Mills Smith, 69, of Modesto. She died Nov. 21, 2011.
Salas Brothers Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Born Feb 1, 1942 as the oldest of six children, Mildred lived in Ceres and Modesto for most of her life. She worked for Banquet Foods and after 30 years, retired from Tri Valley Growers. Known for her generous nature, Mildred enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching game shows, and reading.
She leaves behind a daughter, Lona Hatley; three sisters, Barbara Pence, Jean Rarick and Debra Fathi; and two grandsons, Trevor and Brice Hatley. Mildred was preceded in death by parents Earl and Margie Mills, brother Michael, and sister Glenda Chandler.
