A graveside service was held Monday at Lakewood Memorial Park for Nina V. Lewis, 87, of Turlock. She died Feb. 26, 2008.
Lakewood Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Born April 25, 1920, Mrs. Lewis was a native of Comanche, Texas and came to Modesto in 1941. In 1981 she and her husband, Loran moved to Turlock. Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker and was very involved in the Veterans of Foreign Wars with her husband. She was a Life Member of the V.F.W. and served in many capacities in the Auxiliary including President of Charles R. Greer Post # 7762 of Hughson. Later she was a member of V.F.W. Post 5059 of Turlock.
She leaves behind her husband of 69 years, Loran Lewis of Turlock, two sons, Eddie Lewis of Modesto and Gene Lewis of Ceres; and three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
