Services were held for Olga Laverne England, 89, of Ceres. She died Aug. 23, 2011 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.

Born on April 19, 1922 in Pocahontas, Ark., Olga grew up there. She met and married Rufus "Bill" England of Oklahoma. and moved to Manteca looking fot work. They worked in the cotton fields together. Their first child, Charles, was born in Manteca but died 2 years later. Other children were John H. England, Gwen F. Funk and Debora L. Wiegman. Olga was a seamstress. She had many friends in 2 different houses in Ceres and later on in Voyager's Cove in Modesto.

Olga is survived by her children, John England of Oakdale, Gwen (England) Funk of Mill City, Ore., and Debora (England) Wiegman of Keyes; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Maine, Oregon, Missouri and California.
