Franklin & Downs Funeral Chapel was in charge of funeral arrangements for Olive Costa, 89, of Hughson. She died Jan. 8, 2012.
A funeral Mass was held Tuesday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres.
Born Feb 20, 1922, Olive enjoyed her life as a wife, mother, homemaker, and her years working at Westport School. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, crafts and socializing with the Westport community as well as the Portuguese community. She enjoyed the mountains and family camping trips.
Olive is survived by her son, Jerry Costa of Ceres; her daughter, Sandy Hawke of Modesto, her sister, Rose Silveira of Modesto; her granddaughters Audrey Baker and Chelsea Costa of Modesto; and one great-granddaughter, Paige. She was preceded in death by husband Domingo H. Costa, parents Alfred and Isabel Machado, and daughter Patti Maxted.
