Visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday at Allen Mortuary in Turlock for Ottis Cleo Hamner, 100, of Denair. He died July 28, 2010 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.

A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Denair Cemetery.

Born May 17, 1910 in Illinois to Noah and Pearl Hamner, Ottis came to Orange County in 1921 before he settled in Denair in 1942. Ottis was a self employed plumber most of his adult life and also a farmer for the greater part of his life. He was a past board member of the Modesto Gospel Mission and Heartstone Bible Conference. Mr. Hamner was a member of the Independent Fundamental Churches of America, and also worked in the AWANA program at the First Baptist Church in Ceres.

He leaves behind his daughter, Nancy Macdonald of Turlock; his brother, James Hamner of Hemet; and two grandsons, Martin Macdonald of Pennsylvania and Mitch Macdonald of San Jose. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucile, three sisters, and four brothers.
