A funeral Mass was held Saturday at Holy Family Church in Modesto for Patricia L. "Pat" Sullivan Sherhig Moore, 92, of Modesto. She died Feb. 26, 2012 at her daughter's home in Modesto.

Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel was in charge of burial at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.

Born March 15, 1919

Born Patricia Sullivan (Sherhig) in Iowa, she grew up in Ohio. Pat married James T. Moore in Alaska, moved to Southern California, then to Ceres, where she worked for Dr. Robert Sanford and for the fledgling Stanislaus State College in Turlock. Moving to Prunedale, Pat worked for J.C. Penney in Salinas, transferring from the Modesto store. Mrs. Moore was a member of St. Jude's Church in Ceres, and Madonna del Sasso Church in Salinas, where she was a faithful member of the Third Order of St. Francis.

She leaves behind her children, Elizabeth Sciarini, and Pattè Williams, both of Modesto, James T. Moore of Salinas, Peg Casey of Hollister, and Chris Moore and Bill Moore, both of Prunedale; and 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by husband James T. Moore, and grandson James Moore.
