A celebration of life will be held at the Hilmar Covenant Church at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10 for Paul John Alberti Sr., 86, of Turlock. The former Hughson resident died Sept. 26, 2010.

Born Jan. 8, 1924 in Los Banos, Paul moved to Gustine, where he graduated from Gustine High School. He married and lived in Hughson with his family for 27 years and then resided in Turlock for the past 28 years. He was a self- employed farmer. Paul farmed peaches, almonds and grapes. He also hauled cattle and raised livestock with his children for 4-H and FFA. Mr. Alberti enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, following the San Francisco Giants and 49ers, playing cards, visiting the Turlock Livestock Auction Yard, gardening and going to the park to feed the ducks. He also enjoyed John Wayne movies. Mr. Alberti attended Hilmar Covenant Church.

He leaves behind his children, Annette Diliberto of Hilmar, Joni Calistro of Turlock, Paul Alberti Jr. of Modesto and Kenneth Alberti of Turlock; two brothers, Emil Alberti of Los Banos and Charlie Alberti of Stevinson; his sister, Helen Scesa of Gustine; and five grandchildren, Paul Alberti III, Kristin Diliberto-Anderson, Kayla Alberti, Vincent Diliberto and Andrew Calistro;
