Paula Roberts

Services were held Sept. 30 at Acacia Cemetery in Modesto for Paula Lou Walker Wagamen Roberts, 88. She died Sept. 26, 2011 with her family by her side.

Born Jan. 1, 1923 in Alcoa, Tenn., Paula was the youngest sibling next to her beloved brother Carl "Pat" and sister Claudine. She moved to Hughson as a youngster. At the age of 17 she married Robert, but the marriage was short lived as he went off to fight in World War II. Paula Lou then moved to Southern California at age 19 and began working for Fibreboard International where she met her second husband, Merril Wagamen. They were married for nearly 30 years until his death. Paula Lou then married her David Roberts, after working together for years at Fibreboard International. They moved to Downey where they spent the next 21 years together and traveled the world. She was fond of Switzerland as well as Hawaii. After his passing she spent the next 12 years involved with friends, family, and community activities. Mrs. Roberts enjoyed playing card games as well as family gatherings where she loved to teach a thing or two in the kitchen.
