A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Valley Christian Center in Ceres for Perle K. Brown, 90, of Ceres. He died of natural causes on Monday, Jan. 31, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs.

Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born Sept. 5, 1914, Mr. Brown was a native of Ellis County, Okla., and lived in Ceres for 78 years. He was a carpenter who belonged to the Carpenter's Union. Mr. Brown was a longtime member of Valley View Christian Center in Ceres.

He leaves behind his wife, Annie Brown of Ceres; four children, Arlene Skinner of Ceres, Bruce Brown and Sandra Dunn Shook, both of Modesto, and Raymond Brown of Mariposa; four step-children, Pat Franscella of Coalinga, Nancy Ooi of Chico, Alan Freeman of Ceres and Chuck Freeman of Hughson; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and 12 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine Brown and one granddaughter.
