Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel is in charge of private services for Pete Duran Carter, 86, of Ceres. He died Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Hy-Lond Convalescent Hospital in Modesto.
Born Sept. 17, 1918, Mr. Carter was a native of Plainview, Texas, and had lived in Ceres since 2004. He previously lived in Sacramento for 30 years. He was a bookkeeper for farms.
Mr. Carter leaves behind his niece and caregiver, Gloria Alarcon of Ceres; his brother, Ramon Duran of Las Cruces, N.M.; and four sisters, Maria Serna, Margarita Telles and Mercy Bararres, all of Las Cruces, and Angie Rendon of Albuquerque, N.M. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Carter; one brother; and two sisters.
