A funeral Mass was held on Monday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres for Raul C. Sanchez Sr., 79, of South Modesto. He died Sept. 29, 2008.
Burial was at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Modesto under the direction of Eaton Funeral Home. He enjoyed singing, dancing, laughter and life.
Born July 17, 1929, Mr. Sanchez was born in Los Lopez Gto, Mexico, and came to California in 1956. He was a migrant worker and worked many years for Tri-Valley Growers.
He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Mary Sanchez of Modesto; his children, Lucy, Rebecca, Eva and Max; and 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Raul Sanchez Jr. and daughter Rebecca Sanchez.
