A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31 at Ceres Memorial Park for Reldon Lee Wood, 84, of Ceres. He died peacefully on May 19, 2012

Franklin and Downs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born Aug 7, 1927 in Lenox, Iowa to Lloyd and Lela Wood, Reldon called Ceres his home for the past 57 years. Reldon was a manager for J.S. West and worked in propane sales. He also worked for Erb Brothers in Turlock after his retirement. Mr. Wood enjoyed driving tractors for area farmers. Active in his community, Reldon enjoyed membership in the Masonic Lodge of Lenox Iowa, Ceres Volunteer Fire Department, Ceres Lions Club, Valley Tractor Pullers Association, Ceres FiPo Rock Club, and the Ceres Cemetery Board. He enjoyed going places in his RV with wife Peggy and riding his Rhino on the dunes in Pismo Beach.

He leaves behind two daughters, Susan Pavlakis of Groveland, and Verona Cahoon of Poulsbo, Wash.; his sister, Linda Pendegraft of Creston, Iowa; his grandchildren, Diane Cobb of Ceres, Cori Litke of Hughson, and Daniel Sweeny of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; and his great-grandchildren, Tonee Cobb, Lane Cobb, Shelby Litke, Connor, Logan and Owen Sweeny. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Peggy Wood and brother Billy Wood.
