Robert "Kent" Lane

Dec. 26, 1939 - May 14, 2018

Robert "Kent" Lane, a lifelong resident of Ceres, passed away on May 14, 2018 at the age of 78.

He was born on Dec. 26, 1939 at Memorial Hospital in Modesto to the late Les and Ersie Lane, who raised their family in Ceres. After graduating from Ceres High School, Kent served his country by enlisting in the Army and becoming a marksman. After his discharge, he became a sheet metal fabricator until retirement.

Kent loved hunting, especially deer hunting trips with Bob Hancock and other friends. Later in life Kent had his routine of coffee at his sister Sharon's house then a beer and a good cigar with Patrick and his buddies.

Kent leaves behind his sister, Sharon; his nephews, Mike Lane of Turlock and Mitch Lane of Hughson; and his niece, Lisa Bean of Spokane, Wash. He was preceded in death by both parents, and brother Doug Lane.

Franklin & Downs Ceres Chapel is honored to serve the Lane family. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 24 at 11:45 a.m., at Ceres Memorial Park, 1801 E Whitmore Ave Ceres. There will be a reception at the Ceres American Legion Hall at 2609 Lawrence Street, immediately following the service.
