A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at Allen Mortuary in Turlock for Robert Thomas Caldwell, 74, of Keyes. He died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

Inurment will be private.

Born April 29, 1930, Mr. Caldwell was a native of Weirton, W.Va., and had lived in Keyes since 1982. He previously lived in Delhi for 10 years. Mr. Caldwell worked in steel mills in Weirton, and as a ranch cook in Montana. He enjoyed cooking, watching western movies and gardening.

He leaves behind his wife, Margaret Caldwell of Keyes; three children, Brenda Mungle of Dotham, Ala., David Ammons of Waverly, Texas, and Danny Hayes of Keyes; three brothers, Billy Caldwell of Weirton, Earl Caldwell of Portland, Ore., and Harry Caldwell of South Carolina; four sisters, RuthAnn Jefferies of Weirton, Marie Johnson of Indianapolis, Dorothy Lahita of Fallansbee, W.Va., and Florence Popeck of West Virginia; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; and a grandchild.
