A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 23 at the Harrington house on Service Road for Rocky Young, 55, of Ceres. He died March 27, 2009 at Oak Valley Care Facility in Oakdale.

Born in Huntington Park with Down's Syndrome, Rocky grew up in Bellflower and moved to Ceres with his parents in 1985. He worked at the Association for Retarded Citizens' Howard Training Center and Production Unlimited for most of his life. He enjoyed the challenges of going to work each day. Rocky was well known in Ceres from his outreach jobs and annual attendance at the Ceres Concerts in the Park and the Ceres Street Faire. Rocky enjoyed bowling, participated in Special Olympics, collected wrestling memorabilia and playing the lottery.

He leaves behind his brother, Bruce N. Young, DDS., of Ceres; his sister-in-law, Ronda Young; his niece, Carli Young; and his nephew, Colton Young. He was preceded in death by his parents.
