A memorial service was held Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ceres for Ronald Frank Bennett, 70, of Ceres. He died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

Eaton Family Funeral & Cremation Service was in charge of burial at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.

Born Sept. 26, 1933, Mr. Bennett was a native of the Philippines and lived in Ceres for 13 years. He was a lead mechanic for United Airlines, and had worked in the industry 50 years. Mr. Bennett was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ceres, Second Ward. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Bennett was a member of the Masons and enjoyed stamp collecting and golf.

He leaves behind his wife, Faye Bennett of Ceres; four children, Kirk L. Bennett of La Honda, Ronald C. Bennett of Nipomo, and Tina Bearman and Stacy E. McNabb, both of Lompoc; two brothers, Rawson Bennett of Fort Mojave, Ariz., and Robert Bennett of Santa Margarita; his sister, Honey Bennett of Arizona; and seven grandchildren.
