A funeral was held Monday at the Ceres Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for Ronald Joseph Castro, 57, of Ceres. He died Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Eaton Family Funeral and Cremation Service.

Born Dec. 7, 1947, Mr. Castro was a native of Turlock and lifelong resident of Ceres and Modesto. He was a mechanic for Martella's Auto in Hughson for 15 years. Mr. Castro was a member of Ceres 1st Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying, building model airplanes and playing the guitar.

Mr. Castro leaves behind his wife, Lee Ann Castro of Ceres; four children, Emily Castro, Laura Castro and Mary Castro, all of Ceres, and Cynthia Hunt of Red Bluff; his parents, George and Alice Castro of Hughson; five brothers, Gregory Castro of Modesto, Bryan Castro and Lawrence Castro, both of Hughson, Donald Castro of Reno and James Castro of Nevada; five sisters, Carolyn Lee and Christine McNelly, both of Hughson, Joan Abernathy of Modesto, Gayle Greenlee of Keyes and Susan Black of Michigan; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Crissy Castro.
