A funeral service was held Saturday at Allen Mortuary in Turlock for Ronald Lawrence Mead, 75, of Ceres. He died peacefully on May 5, 2010 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.

Burial was at Turlock Memorial Park.

Born September 1934 in Santa Ana to Lawrence and Aldean Mead, Ronald came to Turlock at the age of five. He graduated from Turlock High School in 1952. After spending eight years in the National Guard Ronald became a rancher, his occupation for the next 50 years. In the 1950s Mr. Mead opened Shell Service Station in Keyes. He was a master marksman at the Turlock Rifle Club, and was a firefighter for the Keyes Fire Department for 15 years. Ronald heenjoyed hunting, fishing and driving his tractor.

He leaves behind his wife Yvonne Mead of Ceres; his children, Cecile Nesslage, Camille Rossen, Corinne Mead and Mark Mead; and five grandchildren, Andrea Nesslage, Marine Lance Cpl. William Nesslage, Brittani Mead, Nicholas Mead and Melanie Mead.
