A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at First Southern Baptist Church in Keyes for Rosie Lee Ann Huffman, 88, of Ceres. She died July 17, 2009 peacefully in her sleep.

A brief graveside service will follow at Ceres Memorial Park under the direction of the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs. Friends are invited to join family at the Mason home following services.

Born Oct. 17, 1920, Rosie was born to Francis Job Martin and Saleta "Seletie" Townsend in Winnsboro, La. She married Jerome Huffman on August 22, 1937 in Franklin Parish, La., and has lived in Ceres since 1961. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Keyes where she taught Sunday School and was church treasurer for 25 years.

She leaves behind her five children, Rosie Maxine Phillips, Sonora, Jerome Elbert Huffman, Ceres, Janice Robenia Walker, Sutter Creek, Lynn Ellen Mason, Ceres and Donnie Lee Huffman, Redmond, Ore.; her 12 grandchildren, Bretton Lane Knight, Tharon Glenn Knight, Lynnette Renee Knight, Charlie Elbert Huffman, Danielle LeeAnn Huffman-Hanni, David DeWayne Walker, Janice Rae Walker, Timothy Dale Walker, Eddie Wayne Mason, Debbie Carolyn Mason, Carry Ann Gurney, and Michael Lee Huffman; 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984, her father in 1939 and her mother in 1969.
