A service was held Tuesday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel for Roy Lee McGuire, 87, of Ceres. He died Jan. 16, 2008.
Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Born Oct. 31, 1920, Mr. McGuire served in the Army from 1943 to 1945. He was ranch foreman for Caswell Ranches for 34 years. His enjoyed raising cattle, fishing and spending time with his family.
He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Louise McGuire of Oakdale; three children, Shirley McGuire Jensen, Sharon Charron, Roy Dean McGuire, all of Ceres; his brothers, Dan McGuire of Lenna, Okla., Denton McGuire of Ardmore, Okla., Billy McGuire of Oakdale, and Joe McGuire of Los Banos; his sisters, Nina Overbee of Branson, Mo., Laverne Machado of Oakdale, and Vella Mae Hargrove of Missouri; and 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and thre great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
