Roy O. Brechwald

A memorial service was held Friday at the McHenry Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Roy O. Brechwald, 89, of San Jose. He died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Palo Alto.

Born Oct. 24, 1916, Mr. Brechwald was a native of Riverbank and lived in San Jose for a year. He previously lived in Modesto for 23 years, and in Virginia and Panama. Mr. Brechwald graduated from Modesto High School in 1934. He was a manager and executive for WP Fuller & Co., and the Better Business Bureau. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Brechwald was a member of F&AM Smyrna Lodge 532 in Ceres and a former member of the Shriners.

He leaves behind his wife, Nadine Brechwald of San Jose; two sons, David Brechwald of Arizona and Jack Brechwald of San Jose; and three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Brechwald.
