A funeral service was held Saturday at Valley Christian Center in Ceres for Ruby Maxine Newton, 69, of Ceres. She died Oct. 6, 2009 in Modesto.
Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park under the arrangement of Lakewood Funeral Home.
Born Jan. 29, 1940 in Shawnee, Okla., to Charles and Thelma Morris, Ruby was a funny, light-hearted, loving person.
She leaves behind her husband of 51 years, George Newton of Ceres; her children, Ricky Newton and Brenda Tackett, both of Ceres; her brother, Jack Morris of San Bernadino; her grandchildren, Steve Tackett and Kellie Tackett, both of Ceres; and two great-grandchildren, Austin Tackett and Lacey Riling, both of Ceres.
