Russel E. Graham

A graveside service was held Tuesday morning at Lakewood Memorial Park for Russel E. Graham, 90, of rural Ceres. He died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005 at Modesto Convalescent Hospital.

The Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge of arrangements.

Born Aug. 1, 1915, Mr. Graham was a native of Compton, and lived in Modesto and Ceres for 61 years. Mr. Graham attended Washington State University from 1938 to 1940 and graduated from Modesto Junior College in the mid-1950s.

He was a dairyman, starting on his parents' dairy, Lambs Dairy in Chula Vista, during World War II. Mr. Graham milked cows for Midland Farms outside of Ceres, from 1945 to the mid-1960s, and left Midland Holstein Farm in 1972. He worked for Nosawa & Co. in Tokyo, from 1963 to 1975, promoting Holstein dairy cattle for export. He graduated from Modesto Junior College in the mid-1950s.

Mr. Graham was a member of the Exchange Club and the 20-30 Club. He joined the Masonic Lodge in 1945, and was a third-degree Mason. He joined Sciots Pyramid 15 in 1951.

He leaves behind his brother, Henry Graham of San Diego.
