A memorial service was held Sunday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Sherwood Leonard Knighton, 67, of Ceres. He died Dec. 7, 2005 at Emanuel Medical Center, Turlock.
Born Dec. 23, 1937, Mr. Knighton was a native of Seattle and lived in Ceres for 30 years. He was a retired railroad conductor.
Mr. Knighton leaves behind his wife, Mildred Knighton of Ceres; five children, Billy Knighton, Edward Knighton, Sandra Souza, Sherry Knighton and Shirley Williamson; his brother, David Rundall; and eight grandchildren.
