A Mass will be held at 9 a.m. today (Wednesday) at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres for Sofia Ceja, 96, of Modesto. She died of natural causes on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005 at Doctors Medical Center.
Burial will follow at Ceres Memorial Park under the direction of the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs.
Born Nov. 25, 1918, Mrs. Ceja was a native of Mexico and lived in the Ceres-Modesto area for 15 years. She was a homemaker and member of St. Jude's Catholic Church of Ceres.
She leaves behind 10 children, Edwardo Ceja of Stockton, Ociel Ceja of Lindsay, Teresa Ceja of San Fernando, Marie de Jesus Ceja and Celia Ceja, both of Los Angeles, Socorro Ceja and Ofelia Ceja, both of Vallejo, Consuelo Ceja, Sofia Ceja and Analia Ceja, all of Modesto; two brothers, Ignacio Ceja and Federico Ceja, both of Modesto; and 69 grandchildren, 109 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
