A funeral Mass was held Friday St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres for Steve Garza, 59. He died March 14, 2011 at his home after a lengthy illness.
Burial was at Ceres Memorial Park.
Born March 16, 1951, Mr. Garza was was an engineer for the City of Modesto Fire Department for eight years before owning S&P Trucking.
He leaves behind his wife, Patsy Garza; his daughter, Linda Garza; his father, Jose Luis Garza; his mother, Maria Benetiz; his stepfather, Edward Benetiz; three sisters, Irma Lopez, Sylvia Murillo and Rosemary Martinez; three brothers, Omero Garza, Jose Luis Garza Jr. and Carlos Garza; his stepdaughter, Elizabeth Marcallino; two stepsons, Vincent Sandoval III and Anthony Sandoval; and grandchildren, Julie Tello, Angelica Tello, Arthur Tello Jr. and Anthony Tello, Victoria Sandoval, Jeffrey Sandoval, Jacinda Sandoval and Legend Sandoval. He was preceded in death by sister Vera Garza Sendejo.
