A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7 at Lakewood Memorial Park for Steven Douglas Baxter Sr., 51, of Ceres. He died of natural causes on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs.
Born Sept. 6, 1953, Mr. Baxter was a native of Turlock and lived his entire life in Ceres. He was an equipment operator.
He leaves behind his wife, Peggy Baxter of Ceres; three children, Steven Baxter Jr. and Leroy Baxter, both of Modesto, and Kristy Baxter of Ceres; two brothers, Richard Baxter Sr. of Oakdale and Jack Baxter of Texas; three sisters, Louise Ramsey and Edith Baxter, both of Modesto, and Janie Threet of Turlock; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey J. and Ella L. Baxter; and four brothers.
