Services will be held 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Salas Brothers Chapel for Sylvia A. Ruff, 90, of Ceres. She died Jan. 30, 2009.
Born Oct. 25, 1918, Sylvia was born in Butler, Okla., and moved to California when she was 4 years old. Mrs. Ruff had an infectious smile that earned her the nickname "Smiley."
She leaves behind two daughters, Carol Walker of Ceres and Shirley Wampler of LaSalle, Colo.; her sister, Mary Reed of Des Moines, Iowa; and six grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
