Terrie Denise King, 59, a resident of Turlock who was active at Richland Faith Assembly of God Church in Ceres, passed away at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco.

A viewing will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 5 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock. A funeral service will be held there at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6. Following the funeral, Terrie interment will be at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd.

Terrie was born in Swindon, England to William Shelton and Sarah Muerrens. Raised in Turlock she went to local schools and graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Business Administration. 

Terrie married the love of her life, Larry King, on Nov. 4, 1978, in Reno, NV. Together, they built a home in Turlock and raised a loving family. 

Throughout her life, Terrie worked as the purchasing manager at Emanuel Medical Center, a real estate agent, and finally Director of Donor Relations for EMC Health. She retired in 2019. 

In her spare time, Terrie loved attending church service, Bible study, and events at Richland Faith Assembly of God in Ceres, where she was a Youth Director for 23 years and the Women’s Ministries Director for seven years. She enjoyed boating at both Turlock Lake and Don Pedro Reservoir, camping in Pinecrest, spending days on the beach and relaxing by the ocean, and shopping. Most of all, she adored spending time with family and friends. 

Terrie was selfless and kind in everything she did. She often devoted herself to serving her local community, helping to raise money for Jessica’s House and Covenant Care Hospice. She touched so many lives in the community and her presence will be dearly missed. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry King of Turlock; two sons, Aaron and Adam King; her daughters-in-law, Tiffany and Angeliki King; her grandchildren, Ryan, Raegan, Roman and Levi King; her mother, Sarah Muerrens; two sisters, Pam Shelton and Mande (Kurt) Meyers; brother-in-law, Ken King; two brothers, Chris (Melissa) Shelton and Mike Shelton; and six nieces, one nephew, one great-niece, and one great-nephew. Terrie was preceded in death by her father, William Shelton; father-in-law, Bob King; and mother-in-law, Genie King.
