A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lakewood Memorial Park for Thelma Lorene Garrett Farris, 79, of Ceres. She died Sunday, April 25, 2004 at University of California, San Francisco Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel in Modesto.
Born June 17, 1924, Mrs. Farris was a native of Crandall, Texas, and had lived in Ceres since 1942. She was a homemaker and had worked at Tri Valley Growers for 30 years. Mrs. Farris belonged to Emmanuel Baptist Church in South Modesto.
She leaves behind two sons, Johnny Farris and Ronald Farris, both of Ceres; two sisters, Alma Glover of Empire and Maxine Bear of Modesto; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Monte Farris.
