Thomas Bruce Jackson

March 5, 1945 - May 2, 2016

Tom Jackson, 71 of Ceres, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at Alexander Cohen Hospice House. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 16 at Allen Mortuary in Turlock with inurnment to follow at Patterson Cemetery.

Born March 5, 1945 in Turlock and raised in Patterson, Tom graduated high school in 1963 and then attended Modesto Junior College. In 1965, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and in 1966 married Barbara Riker. After his honorable discharge, Mr. Jackson worked for the city of Ceres as a Building and Grounds superintendent for over 16 years.

He was a proud member of the Modesto Masonic Lodge #206. He coached Pop Warner Football and Little League baseball. He treasured the friendships he made during his time volunteering. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and was a member of Ducks Unlimited. Tom's passion was his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Jackson; his son, Robert and Melinda Jackson; his daughter, Tamron Honberger; three grandchildren, Ryleigh Honberger, Eric Jackson, and Paityn Honberger; his sister, Peggy and Michael Lenz; and his mother, Billie Crisp. He was preceded in death by grandson Andrew Jackson and father Willie Calvin Jackson.
