A memorial service was Friday at Cunningham's Affordable Burial & Cremation Service for Vada Charlene Cotton Layman, 48, of Modesto. She died July 18, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center.
Born Nov. 18, 1955, Mrs. Layman was a native of Dallas and lived in Modesto for 40 years and previously lived in Sacramento for three years. Mrs. Layman was a housekeeper at a household cleaning firm for 20 years. She enjoyed cooking and camping.
Mrs. Layman leaves behind three children, Medina Choate of Modesto, and Joddie Layman and Jolene Layman, both of Ceres; her brother, Clinton Cotton of Modesto; her sister, Roberta Maniaci of Sacramento; and three grandchildren.
