A Celebration of Life will be held for Wallace L. Shimmon, 83, of Ceres. He died Jan. 16, 2009.
The celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22 at the Tuolumne River Lodge, 2429 River Road, Modesto. Persons planning to attend should RSVP to Robert Shimmon via e-mail at bobshimmon@comcast.net or call (408) 529-2457.
Mr. Shimmon was born Nov. 20, 1925.
He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Bessie Louise Combs Shimmon of Ceres; and six children, Robert Shimmon of San Jose, Richard Shimmon of Lemoore, Lorna Shimmon of Modesto, David Shimmon of Pioneer, Janet Mattingly of Mount Aukum, and Rosemary Yoakum of Antioch; and 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents Yoaw Khoshaba Shimmon and Barbara Wyant Davis Shimmon.
