A chapel service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Valley Christian Center for Walter "Dude" Boling, 73, of Ceres. He died Friday, April 30, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at Lakewood Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born June 9, 1930, Mr. Boling was a native of Kansas and lived in Ceres for 51 years. He was a maintenance splicer for Pacific Bell for 34 years. Mr. Boling was an Army and Marine Corps veteran, serving from 1950 to 1954. He belonged to Valley Christian Center.

Mr. Boling leaves behind his wife, Dorothy Boling of Ceres; four children, William Boling of Modesto, James Boling of Ceres, Rochelle Wheeler of Woodbridge, Va., and Kelly Guilford of Covington, Ga.; and seven grandchildren.
