Services were held for Walter Biasca, 86, of Hughson. He died Sept. 4, 2011.

Born Sept. 17, 1924 to Peter and Enrichetta Biasca in Coquille, Ore., Walter moved to Hughson in 1939. He graduated from Hughson High School in 1942. Mr. Biasca was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hughson, serving for many years as an usher. He was a primarily a peach farmer, but also milked cows, cut wood, and worked for Martella Farms in the walnut huller and as an irrigator. Walter belonged to the Hughson Historical Society, and was recently honored as one of the Distinguished Citizens of Hughson. Walter enjoyed going to flea markets, mini-warehouse auctions and antique shows. He was a collector of countless things.

He leaves behind his children, Debra Linn of Oakdale, Ed Biasca of Hughson and Vickie Robertson of Goldsboro, N.C.; his grandchildren, Peter Biasca of Modesto, Lillie Robertson of Raleigh, N.C., John Robertson of Greenville, N.C. and Anthony Linn of Tuolumne City; and three great-grandchildren, Peter Biasca, Joseph Biasca and Amanda Linn. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother, and his loving wife of 50 years, Betty.
