A graveside service was held Tuesday at Acacia Memorial Park for Wilma Isabel Meyers, 88, of Ceres. She died Thursday, April 15, 2004 at her rural Ceres residence.
Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Born June 8, 1915, Miss Meyers was a native of Lockwood in Monterey County and lived in rural Ceres since 1919. She was a 1933 graduate of Ceres High School and went on to graduate from Modesto Junior College in 1935 and the University of California in 1940. Miss Meyers also finished at Highland Nursing School in Oakland in 1945. From 1945 to 1976, Miss Meyers was a registered nurse, working at a U.S. Army hospital in Panama from 1949 to 1952, and later at Modesto and Stockton state hospitals.
Miss Meyers enjoyed gardening and driving her farm tractor.
She leaves behind her caregivers, George Cabral and his daughter, Alice A. Cabral, both of Ceres; and her step-brother, Donald Jepens of Modesto.
